A federal judge is greenlighting the massive merger between AT&T and Time Warner.
The Justice Department tried to block AT&T's 85-billion-dollar buyout of Time Warner, citing antitrust concerns and possible higher prices. AT&T's lawyer said the company hopes to close the deal on or before June 20th so they can give customers more affordable and innovative video entertainment. Meantime, an attorney for the Justice Department said they still believe the market will be less competitive and less innovative because of the merger. The DOJ is looking over what steps it can take following the ruling.
