Despite reports to the contrary, the Blair Taylor School District has NOT received final approval to go to a 4 day school week next year.
Last week, the Department of Public Instruction okayed a study of the proposal. Public hearings will be scheduled for later this month, which will allow parents and district residents to have inputs on the proposal. DPI will then hear results of the study and determine whether or not they will allow the district to implement the plan. Several media outlets have been reporting the district ha already been given the go ahead to implement the plan, but that is incorrect according to Blair Taylor district representatives. The DPI has only given the district the okay to further study the plan.
