(6/8/12) It might not be a news bulletin to some…but the facts remain that men tend to focus less on their health than women.
That’s why Tomah Memorial Hospital has decided to hold its first annual Men’s Health Night next Tuesday, June 12 from four to eight p-m at the Cranberry Country Lodge in Tomah.
Hospital Community Outreach Health Educator Kasey Bloom says it’s important for men to have their own special night out. Bloom said a number of area businesses and organizations have been invited to display exhibits geared toward men, their health and lifestyle.
At six p-m, Urologist Doctor Thomas Londergan will present information on prostate health and tips to prevent prostate cancer… the number two cancer killer of American men.
Cancer survivor resident Terry Schumacher will share his story at seven p-m.
Bloom said “significant others” are welcome to accompany their guy to the free event which will also include a variety of free health screenings, like cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar, plus there will be prizes, free food and refreshments.
