(6/30/12) The EPA has reached settlement with a western Wisconsin utility over coal-fired power plants which were polluting the air.
La Crosse-based Dairyland Power Cooperative has agreed to spend about 156 million dollars in the settlement revealed online last week. Dairyland had been accused of failing to get the needed permit or install the best pollution control technology when it modified two plants starting eight years ago.
