(10/4/12) Officials at Tomah Memorial Hospital say an annual adjustment to rates will be lower than the average price increase at hospitals across Wisconsin.
Despite rising costs, Tomah Memorial Chief Financial Officer Joe Zeps says the hospital’s two-point-nine-percent rate hike is below the Consumer Price Index and lower than the average rate increase reported for all Wisconsin hospitals. Zeps said as an independent hospital, officials strive to keep prices as low as possible, while balancing the organization’s not-for-profit mission.
The Wisconsin Hospital Association has reported that the average rate increase for all Wisconsin hospitals is expected to be four-point-eight-percent. Rates for all hospitals in Wisconsin are available on-line at the Wisconsin Hospital Association’s website at W-W-W-dot-W-H-A-info center-dot-com. The new hospital rates went into effect October first.
