BRF Common Council Minutes

(10/5/12)  The regular meeting of the Common Council was held at City Hall in the City of Black River Falls on October 2, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. 

Alderpersons Gearing-Lancaster, Chojnacki, Johnson, Herman, R. Eddy, Rahmlow, Olson, and J. Eddy were present.  Mayor Danielson presided.

It was moved by Alderperson R. Eddy, seconded by Alderperson Chojnacki to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the September 4, 2012 Council meeting.  Motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

It was moved by Alderperson Rahmlow, seconded by Alderperson Olson to approve the minutes of the September 19, 2012 Committee of the Whole meeting.  Motion carried.

It was moved by Alderperson Chojnacki, seconded by Alderperson Gearing-Lancaster to place on file the minutes of the July 31 and August 28, 2012 Library Board meetings.  Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

Resolution 2012-5, A RESOLUTION ADDING YIELD SIGNS TO THE OFFICIAL TRAFFIC MAP OF THE CITY OF BLACK RIVER FALLS, JACKSON COUNTY, WISCONSIN was distributed.

A RESOLUTION ADDING YIELD SIGNS TO THE OFFICIAL TRAFFIC MAP OF THE CITY OF BLACK RIVER FALLS, JACKSON COUNTY, WISCONSIN

            WHEREAS,  the Common Council of the City of Black River Falls, Jackson County, Wisconsin, has determined that current traffic and future traffic projections necessitate traffic control at the intersection of South Sixth Street and Fillmore Street; and

            WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Black River Falls believes that erecting yield signs for the North bound and South bound traffic on South Sixth Street at the intersection with Fillmore Street will increase safety.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BLACK RIVER FALLS, JACKSON COUNTY, WISCONSIN AS FOLLOWS:

1.       That yield signs shall be erected for the North bound and South bound traffic on South Sixth Street at the intersection with Fillmore Street.

2.       That pursuant to the provisions of Section 7.02(2)(b) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Black River Falls the Official Traffic Map of the City of Black River Falls shall be amended by adding yield signs for North bound and South bound traffic on South Sixth Street at the intersection with Fillmore Street.

It was moved by Alderperson Olson, seconded by Alderperson Herman to adopt Resolution 2012-5.  Motion carried.

A RESOLUTION ADDING A STOP SIGN TO THE OFFICIAL TRAFFIC MAP OF THE CITY OF BLACK RIVER FALLS, JACKSON COUNTY, WISCONSIN

            WHEREAS,  the Common Council of the City of Black River Falls, Jackson County, Wisconsin, has determined that current traffic and future traffic projections necessitate traffic control at the intersection of North Water Street and the unnamed one-way street between West Jefferson and North Water Street; and

            WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Black River Falls believes that erecting a stop sign for the traffic traveling South on the unnamed one-way street between West Jefferson Street and North Water Street at the intersection with North Water Street will increase safety.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BLACK RIVER FALLS, JACKSON COUNTY, WISCONSIN AS FOLLOWS:

1.       That a stop sign shall be erected for traffic traveling South on the unnamed one-way street between West Jefferson and North Water Street at the intersection with North Water Street.

2.       That pursuant to the provisions of Section 7.02(2)(b) of the Code of Ordinances of the

City of Black River Falls the Official Traffic Map of the City of Black River Falls shall be amended by adding a stop sign stopping traffic traveling South on the unnamed one-way street between Jefferson Street and North Water Street at the intersection with North Water Street.

It was moved by Alderperson Johnson, seconded by Alderperson Gearing-Lancaster to adopt Resolution 2012-6.  Motion carried.

The proposed 2013 City budget was presented and discussed.  Mayor Danielson set a special Committee of the Whole meeting for October 22, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. for further budget review.

It was moved by Alderperson Olson, seconded by Alderperson Herman to adjourn.  Motion carried.
