First Snowstorm Upsets Traffic

Authorities in several Wisconsin counties stayed busy Sunday as a winter storm moved in and created slick spots.

Officials say most of the incidents were slide-offs with no major injuries reported. Some schools decided to cancel before students went to bed. More than a foot fell in the Hudson area. The National Weather Service says temperatures in the single digits are accompanied by 20 to 30 mile per hour winds. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is urging people to stay off the roads, especially in the northwestern part of the state.  The National Weather Service reports 5.5 inches in Black River Falls, 8 inches in Neillsville and 5 in Monroe County.
