(1/2/13) The Tomah Memorial Foundation is helping to meet an increased need for prescription medicine for low income Monroe County residents.
Officials from the philanthropic arm of Tomah Memorial Hospital have donated two-thousand dollars to the Sparta based Saint Clare Health Mission of Monroe County.
This past year Saint Clare provided free health care to more than 900 patients while distributing over four-thousand prescriptions which was up about one-thousand from the year before.
This past year, Ledbetter said the clinic saw a huge influx of patients who lost their job or lost health insurance coverage.
She said the clinic relies on grants and private donations like those from the Tomah Memorial Foundation to provide the free medical care and medications to patients every Tuesday beginning at five P-M.
