The School District of Black River Falls is Moving Forward
Following the December 14, 2012 acceptance of the resignation agreement of the
superintendent, the board directed the administrative team, comprised of building principals
and the directors of business services, curriculum and instruction and pupil services, to develop
options for moving forward. The administrative team unanimously recommended naming Jill
Collins, director of business services, as acting superintendent until the new superintendent is
hired. The school board unanimously approved the recommendation and continues with their
superintendent search. We anticipate a new superintendent will be on board July 1, 2013.
We
acted diligently through the complaint/investigation process with the goal of protecting the
rights of all who were involved and we have a continuing obligation to do so. This has meant
that the process took longer than first anticipated and that communication regarding the
matter was minimal.
It is the board’s priority to maintain a stable and consistent atmosphere
for our school community. Nothing has changed in the classrooms; it is business as usual.
We approach every decision with honesty, trust, fairness, integrity and objectivity. We are
committed to respect the confidentiality of privileged information that is protected by law. Our
first and greatest concerns are the education of our students, service to our community and to
do what is right.
Thank you for your continued patience and respect of the required process. We appreciate our
entire staff’s dedication to professionalism and to our students.
