(3/5/13) Newly elected officers and members of the Educational Enrichment Fund (EEF) Board of Trustees for Black Rivers Schools for 2013 are Chairman, Mary Jo Radcliffe; Vice-Chairman, Dave Lund; Secretary, Co-Secretaries, Barb Brower/Marilyn Hagen; Treasurer, John Lund.
The newly elected trustee is Tess Johnson. Completing a three-year term is Dave Hoffman. Jim Bible and Mary Jo Radcliff will serve an additional three-year term. Others trustees are Bill Moe, Mary Hansen, Paul Millis, Ann Pederson and trustee emeritus, Al Lahmayer.
The EEF was formed in 2005, with a purpose of raising funds for programs and extracurricular activities for Black River Falls schools. Since 2008, the EEF has contributed over $18,600 to purchase items such as Apple iPad2s, archery targets, video equipment, reading software, sewing machines and keyboards. Funds are solicited through pledges, gifts and the newly-initiated SUPPORTER drive from community members, parents, grandparents, teachers, alumni, businesses or friends of our schools. All donations are appreciated.
Each year, staff of the Black River Falls School District may apply for grants to fund program needs which are not funded through the district budget. The EEF Board of Trustees oversees the fund and annually reviews the requests and makes recommendations to the Black River Falls Area Foundation (BRFAF) for funding. Those receiving the grants are recognized at the annual Alumni Banquet and the BRFAF Recognition Dinner. Forms for the grants are available at all schools in the Black River Falls School District and the district office. Applications can also be downloaded from the Black River Falls Area Foundation website at www.brfareafoundation.org. The deadline for grant applications is May 1.
