The SBCA Foundation awards grants to charitable causes that place emphasis on health, welfare and education projects that benefit specific communities and populations where the consumer-based satellite industry has a presence. The SBCA Foundation, Dean's Satellite and the community in Sparta are teaming together to raise money for the Sparta Food Bank. The SBCA Foundation is challenging the community to raise $1,500 in donations. SBCA will match any donations made until May 3rd up to $1,500 plus donate an extra $1,500 on behalf of Dean's Satellite to the Food Bank. Dean's Satellite will be at the Sparta Chamber between 11-1 on May 1st collecting donations as well as on the bridge in downtown Sparta between 11-3. "I feel honored that the SBCA has chosen Dean's Satellite and the Sparta community to help out." Spoke owner Dean Pennel. "We look forward to being able to help those right here in our community have one less thing to worry about"
Over the past two years, The SBCA Foundation has donated over $20,000 to community efforts. From Hurricane Sandy Relief in New Jersey, to career and health services to the homeless in DC and a high school teen night in Florida, The SBCA Foundation feels the efforts of the local small business owner can only be enhanced by its donations. Dean's Satellite has been in business since 1995 and currently services Wisconsin & Eastern Minnesota. In a drive last year for the Sparta Food bank, Dean's was able to raise $1350 in donations. For more information on this drive contact Dean's Satellite at (608) 269-2897.
