One Galesville Officer Resigns

(5/11/13) One of the two Galesville police officers put on paid administrative leave last year after being accused of multiple counts of misconduct has resigned.

According to this morning's La Crosse Tribune, Veteran officer James Brudos' resignation was made official late Thursday after the Galesville City Council reached an agreement with Brudos and his attorney not to pursue further legal action. A second officer accused of similar misconduct, assistant chief John Kamrowski, is still on paid leave. A judge expects to rule on his case next week. Since the two were put on leave last year, the city has paid about $92,000 in pay and benefits to both officers.
