The Jackson County Sherriffs department is investigating a pair of fatal accidents this weekend.
The first happened Saturday night at around 10 on highway 95. According to a release, the driver of a vehicle 36 year old Cletus Moyer of Mondovi was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger 25 year old Samantha Sandberg was trapped in the vehicle with serious injuries. The passenger was removed and transported by ambulance to Black River Memorial Hospital.
The initial investigation showed that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on State Highway 95. The vehicle crossed the centerline and continued off the roadway on the north-side of the highway. The vehicle rolled over, ejecting the driver and trapping the passenger inside the vehicle. Open and unopened alcoholic beverages were located inside the vehicle.
The second happened Sunday Morning when the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a motorcycle verse deer crash on County Highway "P" near Underhill Road in the Town of Curran, Jackson County, WI. According to a news release, A group of motorcycles were traveling southbound on CTH P when one of the motorcycles struck a deer and was the driver was ejected from the cycle. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was wearing a helmet and was unable to avoid the crash.
The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Tim J. Greeno, age 53, from the Sparta, Wisconsin area.
