(1/11/14) Are you over 30 and enjoy playing basketball?

The Black River Falls Parks and Rec Department offers an Over 30 Recreational Basketball Program. It's Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 at the Third Street Elementary School. The program is free, but participants are asked bring a change of shoes for use on the gym floor. There no locker room facilities available for use. And if school is closed during the day, the program is cancelled for the evening.

Parks and Rec Director, Steve Peterson, also says there are two areas open for Community Ice Skating. The areas include Mills Hill and the old outdoor Ice Rink behind the American Legion building. Both areas are available 24/7. Peterson requests that if you use the old Ice Rink, please take the nets off the Ice when finished. Shut off all lights and close all doors and pick up your garbage. Doing this will allow the Parks Department to keep the ice rink open for use. Peterson says if everyone works together, these places can be a fun time and a fun place for all to Skate.

And, yes, there's snow on the ground...but the first meeting for the 2014 Jackson Little League Board of Directors will be next Sunday, January 19th, at 4pm at the Black River Falls City Hall. It is an open meeting and anyone wishing to attend is welcome.
