(4/22/14) The 2014 Babysitting Clinic, sponsored by Black River Memorial Hospital and Partners of BRMH, will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Black River Memorial Hospital.
Two sessions will be available: morning session 7:30 a.m. – Noon and afternoon session 1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Students only need to attend one session. A snack will be provided and there is no cost to attend, but advanced registration is required by June 2nd, 2014. There is room for 50 students at each session.
The babysitting clinic is open to any student who has completed the 6th grade. These one day clinics teach students to be responsible, creative and safety conscious while babysitting. Topics include: Guidelines for Sitters; Feeding; Dressing; Fire Safety; Safety and Legal Responsibilities; First Aid; Responding to Emergencies; and Rescue Breathing and Choking Interventions.
At the end of the clinic, students will attend a Q&A session with a panel of parents who will discuss experiences with babysitters. Students will be given a test, awarded a certificate of course completion and have a group picture taken.
