Multi-Vehicle Accident Investigation

On Saturday July 12, 2014 at around 12:30 PM the Jackson County Sheriff's Office was notified of a multi-vehicle traffic accident on CTH K near Highbank Road in the Township of Komensky in Jackson County.

Upon arrival Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies found that three vehicles were involved in an accident.  According to witnesses a vehicle was traveling north on CTH K at a high rate of speed when it came upon slower traffic that included a vehicle pulling a boat and trailer.  The trailer had a flat tire and the driver pulling the boat and trailer was slowing down to find a safe place to pull over and change the tire.

Upon investigation and according to witnesses, the suspect vehicle was unable to slow down, striking one vehicle and then caroming into the truck and trailer combination.  The towed boat was ejected from the trailer and the suspect vehicle came to final rest facing south on CTH K.  The suspect vehicle then started on fire and citizens assisted with extinguishing the car fire on the suspect vehicle.

Numerous injuries were reported including to the driver of the suspect vehicle, identified by authorities as 27 year old Brandon K. Rave of Black River Falls.

The accident is still under investigation and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office is being assisted in the investigation by the

Wisconsin State Patrol.  Alcohol and speed are both believed to be factors in the accident.
