Alchohol, Speed Factors in Multi-Vehicle Accident

(7/14/14) Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in a multi-vehicle accident early Saturday afternoon.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, 27 year-old Brandon K. Rave of Black River Falls was driving at a high rate of speed north on County Highway K, near Highbank Road, when he came upon slower traffic and was unable to slow down.  Rave's vehicle struck a car, then, caromed (care-um-d) into a truck pulling a boat and trailer, which had slowed in search of a safe place to change a flat tire.  The boat was ejected from the trailer.  Rave's vehicle came to a stop facing south and started on fire.  Officers say witnesses extinguished the blaze.  The accident remains under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and Wisconsin State Patrol.
