(1/6/12) Places close to Lake Superior have had a lot of snow lately.
But most parts of Wisconsin are like La Crosse – where the National Weather Service has recorded only five inches of snow so far this season. The average snowfall by now is around 17 inches in La Crosse. This year’s total is the lowest since 2007. It was exactly 10 years ago when the city recorded the lowest snowfall ever as of January fifth – just one-point-one inches. Folks in north central Wisconsin are expected to see a little snow tonight, but they probably won’t have to shovel it. Otherwise, dry weather and mild temperatures are expected statewide at least until the middle of next week.
