(2/21/12) The public is invited to the Annual Jackson County Women in History Program on Tuesday, March 20th, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Skyline Clubhouse in Black River Falls.
This is the 17th year for this program which is held during Women’s History Month and recognizes women in Jackson County who have made significant contributions to their communities and the county.
The deadline for nominations was this past December and the WIH committee reviewed the nominations and selected this year’s recipients who will be announced at the program. To qualify, a woman must be a resident of Jackson County, 60 years of age and have made a difference in the community. Since the program began, 82 women have been honored.
Each recipient will receive a long-stem rose and framed certificate. Their names will also be added to a permanent plaque located in the Jackson County Courthouse. Refreshments will be served following the program.
This year the program is being sponsored by Jackson County Aging Office, Jackson County Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, Volunteer Services at Black River Falls Memorial Hospital, and Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
