Access To Fort McCoy Limited to Main Gate

(2/24/12) Beginning Thursday, March 1 and until further notice, Gate 5 (Sparta Gate) and Gate 15 (Tomah Gate) no longer will be available to  access or exit Fort McCoy.Entry to and exit from Fort McCoy's cantonment area will be limited to the Main Gate and Gate 20.

All motorists and adult passengers entering the gates
must show photo identification, generally a common access card or a state
driver's license.The Main Gate will be the primary avenue for 24/7 access or exit. From
a.m.-4 p.m.
weekdays, visitors will be routed to the Vehicle (Visitor)
Control Center, building 35, before being allowed onto the installation.
The Main Gate will have two lanes open. Motorists entering
Fort McCoy can
help ensure a smooth traffic flow. Vehicles approaching from the west
Sparta) are encouraged to use the west lane (closest to their lane of
entry) while vehicles approaching from the east (Tomah) are encouraged to
use the east lane when entering the installation to help reduce cross
traffic.Gate 20 will be open from
5 a.m.-5 p.m. daily for incoming motorists in
commercial or business vehicles registered in the RAPIDGate program and
motorists with common access cards. This access point, which is located east
of the Main Gate, will be manned
5 a.m.-5 p.m. daily and as requested to
accommodate convoy operations and access to the training areas.Motorists can leave the post from either gate.
Fort McCoy police are prepared to make adjustments as necessary to
accommodate increased traffic.
