The building was occupied at the time of the fire had was brought to the attention of the occupants by a passing motorist.
Upon arrival of the Department heavy smoke was coming from the roof area of the structure and just a short time later flames came thorough the roof. The wood frame structure is 73’ x 28’ in size.
The occupants of the building had exited the building by the time the Department arrived on scene.
The fire was located in the attic area of the structure.
The Department was on the fire scene for two (2) hours and did receive mutual aid from the Merrillan and Hixton Fire Departments for additional Firefighters.
The property owners are Donald & Tammie Dobson.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time and damages are estimated are also not known at this time.
The structure has heavy fire damage in the attic area as well as water damage.
The property and contents are insured.
There were no reported injuries during the fire by any civilians or Firefighters.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and Black River Falls Police Department conducted traffic control and direction.
The cause of this fire remains under investigation by the Black River Falls Fire Department.
