(3/10/12) A webinar program with various speakers from the UW-Extension will cover aspects of land rental contracts for farm land.
This program will provide an introduction to land values and lease concepts around the region, discussion will include a breakdown of how land prices are changing around the state and what drives land rental rates. The program will be held on Wednesday March 14th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Jackson Electric Co-op Community Room, N6868 County Road F, Black River Falls.
Brue Jones, UW Ag Economist will discuss the pros & cons of Risk Sharing / Variable Cash Leases and help landlords and renters decide if a flexible lease contract will work for them, and if so what kind might fit their situation.
Phil Harris will discuss lease contracts and legal concerns. While many rental agreements are on a handshake, Phil will cover the legal issues involved with renting farm assets and what makes for a legal contract.
