A La Crosse man convicted of keeping his mother's body in a freezer for years and for shooting a neighbor will be moving to the Chippewa Valley soon.
Published reports say 59 year old Philip Schuth will move to Eau Claire April 16th.
He will be on supervision until 2022. He's currently in the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage.
In 2005, he shot and wounded a neighbor at his French Island home near La Crosse. The shooting led to an all night standoff and then officers discovered his mother's body in a freezer in the basement. Prosecutors say he kept her in there for years while he collected her social security.
He's spent the last 7 years in prison.
