(3/20/12) On March 19, 2012 at approximately 7:30 PM an Officer for the City of Black River Falls Police Department conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle after the driver of that vehicle was identified to not have a valid operator’s license.
After making contact with the driver, identified as Daniel A. Triplett, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit was called. A positive drug sniff of the vehicle was conducted and a small amount of marijuana was found in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Further search of the vehicle was conducted and approximately 27 grams of cocaine was located in the vehicle. Also located in the vehicle were a digital scale, plastic bags, a large amount of cash and other items of paraphernalia indicating the sales of narcotics. Some of the cocaine was packaged in amounts common for the sale of cocaine.
The passenger, identified as Fontel J. Brown, and Triplett were both arrested for a felony charge Party to a Crime of Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine along with other offenses and booked into the Jackson County Jail. Brown is from the Chicago, Illinois area and Triplet is a former resident of Jackson County. Both men are being held without bond until their initial court appearances where bond will be set.
The Black River Falls Police Department along with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office continue to work together as part of the West Central Metropolitan Enforcement Group to counteract the drug issues in Jackson County.
