(3/31/12) On March 30, 2012 at 18:10PM the Jackson County Emergency Dispatch Center (EDC) paged for a structure fire at W10614 Hannon Road which, is located in the Town of Adams, County of Jackson.
The fire was reported by a passerby after seeing smoke coming from the two structure single family, wood frame structure.
Upon arrival on scene smoke was coming from the structure and no open flames were visible from the outside
The building has heavy fire damage in the kitchen area and heavy smoke damage in the rest of the structure.
The building and contents are insured.
There have been no reported injuries at this time. One family cat did perish in the fire.
The owners are Jim and Rosemary Smetana.
The occupants are Doug and Laura Lindow who were not home at the time the fire was reported.
The department just cleared from the scene at 21:16.
Mutual aid was obtained from the Merrillan Fire Department, Hixton Fire Department, Hatfield Fire Department, Alma Center Fire Department and Black River Emergency Medical Service.
The Red Cross is assisting the family.
The cause of this fire remains under investigation by the Black River Falls Fire Department.
