(4/4/12) A friendly competition at Tomah Memorial Hospital has resulted in a sizable contribution to Tomah’s Neighbor for Neighbor Food Pantry.
Hospital officials this week dropped off just over twenty-one hundred pounds of food to the pantry as the result of a month-long food drive that pitted hospital employees who work on the upper floor of the hospital versus staff who work on the lower floor of the building.
Hospital Nutrition Services Director Donna Shuck said everyone who uses Tomah’s food pantry was the real winner of the contest.
For the record, staff from the hospital’s lower floors, along with employees from Community Outreach, Warrens Walk In Clinic, Patient Financial Services, Hospice and Palliative Care collected just over twelve-hundred pounds of food compared to just over nine-hundred for the upper floor employees.
Tomah Memorial held the drive in recognition of National Nutrition Month in March.
