(4/27/12) A 59-year-old woman was killed early today in a mobile home fire in Chippewa Falls.
Police and fire units were called to a mobile home court just after 2:45 this morning. They said the burning structure was engulfed in flames and heavy smoke when they arrived. Fire-fighters broke into a rear doorway and found the woman’s body in a hall. She died later at a Chippewa Falls hospital. A fire-fighter was treated for injuries in the rescue attempt. Officials said the fire was confined to one mobile home in the park. The cause remains under investigation.
