Pit Bull Attacks Tomah Boy

(5/9/12) A seven-year-old boy from Tomah is home from the hospital, after a pit bull attacked him – and doctors gave over 100 stitches and staples.

Dakota Carver’s mother said he was out riding a new bike he was given for his seventh birthday, when the dog went after him. One of his friends ran to get Dakota’s mother, Tracy Tupper – and she found her son in a pool of blood, as the pit bull kept attacking the boy’s neck. Tupper said she kicked the animal – and she fell to the ground while trying to shield the boy from the aggressive dog. Tupper’s fiancé moved Dakota into a car while they waited for an ambulance to arrive. The youngster spent four days in the hospital before he was sent home on Monday.
