Plan to Attend Fort McCoy's Open House

(5/10/12)  FORT McCOY, Wis. - Fort McCoy will host its annual Armed Forces Day Open House Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. rain or shine.



        Many Family oriented activities are planned for the event, which is
free and open to the public.

        The post's historic Commemorative Area, with its park-like setting,
will be the backdrop for the day's events.  The History Center and World War
II Commemorative Buildings will be open throughout the day.

        An Information Area will be located at the main entrance of building
905.  Open house staff can provide an overview of events and answer
questions.

        Scheduled open house activities include camouflage face painting,
installation bus tours, personalized ID tags and military equipment
displays.

        A concession stand will be available to anyone wanting to purchase
food or drink items.

        Visitors must enter the installation through Gate 15 off of Highway
21 between Sparta and Tomah, Wis.  Adults must be prepared to present photo
identification.
