(7/23/12) Partners of Black River Memorial held a Telecare Luncheon at the hospital on Thursday, July 19 to offer their Telecare subscribers and callers a chance to meet each other in person.
Partners offers the Telecare calls as a safety and welfare check to each subscriber every morning around 8 a.m. "It's a friendly check-in call to visit with people and make sure they are feeling okay and up for the day," says Jen Mattson, Telecare caller. "It's so nice to talk with people. They are really glad to hear our voices and have a chance for some conversation in the morning. We really get to know them and I love it."
Telecare is operated by volunteers and is offered free of charge. Calls are made 365 days per year. Subscribers can sign themselves up for the program, or be referred by friends or family. For more information call Sarah Osegard, Volunteer Coordinator, at 715-284-3606.
