Two men who escaped from the Black River Correctional Facility last week have been captured in Florida.
ames Newman and James Misleveck were spotted early this morning in Broward County.
According to a news release from the Jackson County Sherriff, the two were in a vehicle with Wisconsin plates spotted driving slowly in the area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
When approached by police, the vehicle sped away.
After a police chase, the two eventually abandoned the vehicle.
Misleveck was arrested in a residential backyard without incident.
Newman was found hiding in a tree.
A K9 unit eventually forced Newman to jump to the ground where he was arrested.
He was taken to a local hospital and then released into police custody.
The two are in the Broward County Jail awaiting extradition to Wisconsin.
