The Black River Falls Educational Enrichment Fund (EEF), administered through the Black River Falls Area Foundation (BRFAF), has developed a new SUPPORTER program. The new program's purpose is to solicit and encourage on-going yearly donations of $50.00 per person or $100.00 per couple to help the Black River Falls School District continue to fund unmet needs for programs and extracurricular activities.
Until recently, the EEF has been funded by five-year pledges and one-time gifts. The SUPPORTER program is designed to give previous donors an opportunity to add to these pledges and gifts. The fund is over half way toward the goal of $400,000. Only the earnings on the principal are available for disbursement each year through grant requests.
Since 2008, the EEF has contributed to every school in the Black River Falls School District. Over $18,600 has been awarded to purchase items such as Apple iPad2s, archery targets, video equipment, reading software, sewing machines and keyboards. Black River Falls school staff may apply each year for grants to fund unmet programs and extracurricular needs which are not able to be funded through the district's budget. The EEF Board of Trustees oversees the fund and annually reviews the requests and makes recommendations to the Black River Falls Area Foundation for funding. Those receiving the grants are recognized at the annual Alumni Banquet and the BRFAF recognition dinner.
One-time or five-year pledges will also be gratefully accepted in addition to the newly-established SUPPORTER program. Any level or amount of contribution is appreciated. Make check(s) payable to the Black River Falls Area Foundation and returned to the Educational Enrichment Fund, P.O. Box 374, Black River Falls, WI 54615.
