(7/26/12) It takes dedication, perseverance and skill to be an athlete with game, but it takes proper injury prevention to keep it up.
Attend the Black River Memorial Hospital's Sportlympic Games on August 15 to learn important injury prevention tips from Dr. Todd Duellman, Orthopaedic Surgeon, and other sports medicine pros.
The Games start at 1 p.m. with competitive events such as spinal board lifting and bed races for area high school athletes. Students can register a team of four to win prizes for their school including iPads and an athletic department donation. At 4 p.m. Dr. Duellman will talk about common sports injuries, how to prevent them and the latest treatments. Athletes of any age can benefit from additional prevention tips provided by athletic trainers and physical therapists throughout the events.
