(7/27/12) A 65-year-old man in Tomah was dragged for a block by his own pick-up truck, after he caught a man who was apparently trying to steal it.
According to police, the victim went into a store on Wednesday – and when he came out, he saw the 29-year-old suspect in the driver's seat. He tried to pull the suspect from the vehicle, but it drove off. Officials said the man was dragged to a nearby restaurant's parking lot, where he was thrown to the ground. He was treated at a hospital for his injuries, and was later released. Police found they found the suspect in a construction area that was close by – and officers arrested him after a brief chase on foot. Online court records do not show that the man was charged yet – but he faces possible counts of vehicle theft, robbery, reckless endangerment, and bail jumping.
