(8/9/12) Exhibits, demonstrations, workshops and presentations relating to renewable energy, alternative energy, conservation, recycling, and sustainable living take center stage at the 2nd Annual Green Life Xpo in Black River Falls, WI, on Saturday, August 25th. The show runs from 9 am to 4 pm at Milt Lunda Memorial Arena at Fair Park, highway 54, on the city's west side.
See and hear about the latest in energy-efficient vehicles and building materials. Take one of the tours at 10 am and 1 pm – including a net zero energy home, a new energy-producing municipal dam, a community garden, a solar supplemental energy system and "Earthship" --- a home under construction employing biotecture sustainable building methods and constructed of recycled materials.
The owner and builder of the Earthship will also deliver a presentation on Friday, August 24th at 1 pm at the arena.
Jackson Electric Co-op will provide recycling of electronics and appliances – most free of charge. Co-op Credit Union will provide free, secure, recyclable on-the-spot shredding of outdated but sensitive documents. Both services are being offered 9 to 2.
Xpo Chairman Linda Heller of Alma Center said, "I'm proud of the education our event provides – but it wouldn't happen without the volunteers and contributors. And it's the exhibitors and presenters who present some real solutions and answers for consumers."
Admission to Green Life Xpo is a donation of $2.00. The tours are included and Friday's presentation is free of charge. For more information, visit www.greenlifexpo.com plus Facebook and Twitter.
