A wine-maker from western Wisconsin received a “Best-of-Show” award at a wine competition in Minnesota.
Danzinger Vineyards of Alma was honored for having the best specialty-fortified wine. The award went to Danzinger’s Midnight Voyage Dessert Red Wine. Over 325 wines competed in the fourth annual International Cold Climate Wine Competition held yesterday at the University of Minnesota. The top honor went to the Four Daughters Vineyard and Winery from Spring Valley Minnesota. It won the Governor’s Cup for a 2011 La Crescent wine. It also received a Best-of-Show honor for the top white wine. The contest entries came from commercial wineries in Wisconsin, 11 other states, and Canada.
