Motorists on southbound highway 131 between Heritage and Herring Roads in Monroe County got a rude surprise yesterday afternoon.
A sinkhole opened up in the southbound lane.
It happened around 5:15.
The Wisconsin DOT is working to repair the problem, but it is tying up traffic which usually uses that route.
