(9/15/12) A POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony in honor of prisoners of war and missing in action will be held at the Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Friday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m. in the Tomah VA Chapel.
The POW/MIA Recognition Day program's guest speaker will be Tomah Municipal Court Judge and Navy Veteran Tom Flock. The Tomah VA Medical Center Director and retired Air Force Col. Mario V. DeSanctis will also speak at the event.
Further music will be provided by members of the Tomah High School Select Choir. The program will include the introduction of the former prisoners of war attending the program and the annual tribute to Wisconsin natives still missing in action from the Vietnam War. Local Veteran and VA staff musicians will also perform and there will be a candle lighting ceremony in honor of those still missing in action.
All former prisoners of war, families of those missing in action, and their guests are invited to attend. The public is encouraged to attend.
