Authorities in Monroe County say the death of a person in a car fire is being investigated as suspicious.
Fire-fighters responded to the blaze on Tuesday morning near Norwalk. While putting out the flames, fire-fighters saw a body inside the vehicle. Sheriff’s deputies asked the state Justice Department and the Crime Lab to help them identify both vehicle and the body. Monroe County Sheriff Pete Quirin said the vehicle had not been involved in an accident. He said officers were not sure if the person fell asleep while smoking in the vehicle – or if it was a homicide or suicide.
