(10/30/12) A former jailor in western Wisconsin has been sentenced to six months in jail and four years of probation for molesting an inmate. 27-year-old Jerry Friedl (free'-dle) of Sparta struck a plea deal this summer, and was sentenced yesterday in Monroe County.
He pleaded no contest to third-degree sexual assault. Three other counts of second-degree sex assault by a correctional staffer were dropped. All four charges were felonies. Friedl must register as a sex offender, undergo a sex offender assessment, and get any treatment that's recommended. Friedl worked at the Monroe County Jail in Sparta when he had intimate sexual contact with an inmate four times in August of last year.
