Closed GG Dairy Plant Products to be Distributed in La Crosse

(1/19/13) The closing of the Golden Guernsey Dairy Plant in Waukesha has left tons of milk with no place to go until now.

According to the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse, a collaborative effort with the Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee is helping to recover many of the dairy products made at the plant and bring them to the La Crosse area.  Task Force officials say they are committed to distributing the products rather than seeing them go to waste.  Hundreds of gallons will be given away.  In addition to distributing to Partner Food Programs, a "drive thru" milk distribution is planned for this Tuesday in the Bridgeview Plaza on Rose Street in La Crosse.  From 11:00am to 2:00pm...or until gone...anyone is welcome to simply drive up to the truck and grab some nutritious dairy products.
