(2/1/13) By unanimous vote at the January meeting, the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors elected the following individuals to serve as officers for 2013.
Holly Winn, Vice-President of Human Resources and Ancillary Services at Black River Memorial Hospital was elected President, Steve Meyer, Member Services Director at Jackson Electric Cooperative was elected Vice-President and for the second year in a row, Lori Scharlau, Coverra Insurance Services was voted in as Treasurer.
Winn served as Vice-President in 2012, and was re-elected to serve a second three-year term during the recent election. Elected to serve as President in 2013, she succeeds Jon Warmke whose three-year term ended in December.
Steve Meyer, now serving as Vice-President came to the board in 2011, however this isn't his first time volunteering for the Chamber. Meyer also served as a Chamber board member in the late nineties.
Lori Scharlau brings financial expertise to the Chamber through her business acumen in retail and sales. Scharlau has gained her knowledge not only as a Coverra Insurance agent, but also owning and operating Allen Creek Country Store as well as other retail operations in the past.
Barb Brower, Executive Director stated, "I'm very excited to work with the new executive committee as well as the new members of the board." "The diversity of the Chamber board provides a broad perspective, helping steer our organization to its highest potential," said Brower.
