Black River Falls, WI – ATVing and UTVing are the fastest growing motorsports in Wisconsin, especially in areas geared for trail riding. Discover Wisconsin is introducing those unfamiliar with this pastime by showcasing four destinations who welcome riders with open arms. Airing on March 16 and 17, 2013, the show will reach Discover Wisconsin's broadcast network of 480,000 viewers across the upper Great Lakes region, including Minnesota, Iowa, Northern Illinois, and Upper Michigan.
Discover Wisconsin partnered with the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the Hurley Area Chamber of Commerce and Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce, Price County Tourism Department, and Neillsville Chamber of Commerce, for the creation of this episode. Each destination provides a variety of trail riding adventure along with so much to see – on and off the trail.
Black River Country has been an established ATV destination for years with over 100 miles of trails and routes winding through 335,000 acres of public land in Jackson County. This episode visits a family that's been camping in Jackson County, twice a year for over 60 years. "We met the Hartmans and they not only explained why they keep coming back year after year, they also welcomed me into their family as they showed me the area by ATV," said Discover Wisconsin host, Emmy Fink. Fink also was initiated with her first mud pit at Doc's Bunkhouse. "That was a blast," Fink added.
If you're into two-wheeled, off-road riding versus four-wheeled; Jackson County is also home to 26 miles of single track riding at Crawford Hills County Park. "We want to cater to the outdoor enthusiast," said Barbara Brower, Executive Director of the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce. "It doesn't matter if they travel on two wheels, four wheels, or just by foot or boat. We offer enough recreational land for everyone to find something to enjoy."
Discover Wisconsin is the nation's longest running tourism program, and celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2012.
