(4/20/13-TonyHart) A Friday afternoon crash involving three semis sends one driver to the hospital.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, it happened about 2:30 at mile marker 77 on I-94 near Eau Claire.  Two semis...one driven by 36 year-old Anthony Bangart of Stratford and a second driven by David Edwards of Loco, Oklahoma...had slowed down to a near stop as traffic backed-up due to the two eastbound lanes converging to one for road construction. 52 year-old Buford McDowell of Calument City, Illinois drove a third semi strucking the second at near highway speed, in turn pushing the second into the first rig.  Edwards was taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries, treated, and released.  The Patrol says traffic on I-94 was backed-up about four miles at one point.  It took nearly four hours to clear the scene.  Officials recommend drivers consider an alternate route when traveling between Eau Claire and Osseo during peak travel times.
