A man accused of setting fire to a resort in May of 2004 has been found not guilty of all charges.
Six years after a fire destroyed a resort in Jackson County, the owner, Edward Rosenberg of Black River Falls was charged with one count of arson of a building with intent to defraud and seven counts of second degree reckless endangerment in Jackson County. This week, Rosenberg was found not guilty of all charges. According to a report, the charges were not proven and no legal effect. according to the original criminal complaint, in May of 2004 Black River Falls fire crews were called to the River Crest Resort for a report of a fire. When crews got there they found the resort office and personal residence fully engulfed in flames.
