(7/9/13) A celebration in honor of the 2012-13, Black River Falls Rotary Club President, Michele Steien, was held on Monday June 24th at the Lunda Community Park.

Steien's year of leadership was marked with many successes including an outstanding fund-raising effort during the Service-Above-Self Community Award Banquet held earlier this year.  Rotary's motto, "Service-Above-Self" conveys the humanitarian spirit of the world-wide organization's more than 1.2 million members. Strong fellowship among Rotarians and meaningful community and international service projects characterize Rotary world-wide.

Steien stated, "It was my honor serving as Rotary president this past year.  Being a member of Rotary has enriched my life and I have developed friendships with community members that I may not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise."  Incoming President Max Michaelson congratulated Steien and presented her with a past-president's pin and a plaque commemorating her service to the club.
