Here are
the stories:

Authorities
are investigating a bomb scare at a West Milwaukee Walmart. Milwaukee police say
a man alerted employees about a bomb in the store at 5:27 p.m. last night. The
store was evacuated and a police searched turned up nothing. Police say the
incident remains under investigation and the man involved was not
arrested.

A
quick-thinking customer thwarted a bank robbery in Milwaukee County. Greenfield
Police say a man entered the Great Midwest Bank at around 11:00 a.m. yesterday
morning, displayed a taser-like weapon and demanded money. The suspect then
forced bank employees into a vault and tied them up. Police say a patron arrived
and got into a physical altercation with the suspect, forcing him to flee
without money. The patron suffered minor injuries in the altercation and was
treated on the scene. Anyone with information on the robbery should contact
police.

State
lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow customers to opt-out of "smart
meters". The new meters report usage information via wireless. A spokesperson
for the Wisconsin Utilities Association says the new meters are cost effective
and if residents are able to opt-out, that would force companies to hire staff
to read those meters, which would likely result in higher utility rates. Some
opponents have raised concerns about privacy and health concerns, but W-U-A says
there is no evidence to support that that.

A South
Dakota man has quite the fishing story to tell... setting a Wisconsin state
record. The Department of Natural Resources have certified the catch by Roy
Stromsness of Sioux Falls, South Dakota – A 12-pound, four-ounce lake whitefish.
The fish was caught on Lake Michigan near Sheboygan on July 9. The previous
state record was set in 1977, it weighed 11-pound, 11-ounce.
