Semi Crash Shuts Down Interstate

A crash involving two semi trucks caused havoc on the interstate yesterday afternoon.

It happened on I-94 eastbound at milepost 121 in Jackson County two semis collided at 5:08 pm

shutting down the eastbound traffic. Traffic was rerouted on STH 54 to US 12. The interstate

reopened at 8:00 pm.

The crashed occurred when a TGL Logistics Inc. semi, which was parked on the shoulder of I-94

due to engine failure, was struck in the rear by a Werner Enterprises Inc. semi. The Werner semi

continued into the median and caught on fire. The driver was able to escape from the unit with

non-life threatening injuries. The semi tractor was destroyed in the fire. The TGL Logistics Inc. semi

sustained heavy damage to the trailer. The driver was not injured.
