A 60-year-old Green Bay pilot is lucky to be alive, after crashing a plane in Brown County over the weekend. Authorities say the crash happened just after noon yesterday. The pilot told the Brown County Sheriff's Office that he lost power on takeoff and the plane's landing gear collapsed on landing. The plane is considered a total loss, valued at around 25-thousand dollars. Federal Aviation officials are investigating the crash.

Authorities say a meth problem has made a comeback in Northwest Wisconsin. After putting a stop to the drug from 2007 to 2010, police in Eau Claire say they have sent over four hundred suspected meth samples to the state crime lab – that's up 86-percent from last year, with 41 of those cases coming from Barron County. It's unknown why the drug is making a comeback, but authorities believe it's coming from the Twin Cities.

A Racine County man will go to court next month on charges of child abuse. Authorities say 36-year-old Samuel Martin Jr., of Burlington, allegedly punished a young child for cussing at him by shoving a bar of soap into her mouth. The incident knocked two of the child's teeth out. The girl told police she was in bed and under the covers. Martin was in court this past Thursday and is out on a one-thousand dollar bond until his September 4 court date.

Stealing from a church is one thing, but selling an estimated 80-thousand dollars' worth of stolen good for a hundred bucks is another. Milwaukee Police say that's what two perps did last Monday to the St. Anthony Catholic Church. Authorities say several brass and gold candle-holders were taken and sold as scrap. The buyer helped lead police to the arrest of a 31-year-old on Thursday and a 55-year-old on Friday. Police say the two unidentified suspects allegedly smashed the marble off the candlesticks so they could transport all the medal in a trash can.
