1st Annual TigerPRIDE/Tiger CUB Run/Walk

(8/27/13 The Black River Falls Educational Enrichment Fund committee is excited to announce the 1st annual TigerPRIDE Homecoming 5K Run/Walk and TigerCUB Youth Fun Run,  that are scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2013.

Organized by the Black River Falls Educational Enrichment Fund committee, this event will raise money to provide grants to our teachers in the Black River Falls School District for worthwhile educational programming and equipment that is not funded through our school budget.  Race directors, Tess Johnson and Chanda Janke, and the entire race committee, are preparing for the upcoming event.  "We're really excited to promote a fun and healthy activity, that also encourages school spirit, and helps raise money for such a worthwhile cause," stated Janke.  Johnson added, "The response from area business owners to help defray the cost of the event has been terrific.  We are really hoping to draw a lot of Black River Falls alumni back to town to take part in the race and other Homecoming festivities."

The 5K Run/Walk is set to start at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Black River Falls Middle School parking lot, and will end at the Black River Falls High School track. Following the 5K Run/Walk, all youth eleven and under are invited to participate in the TigerCUB Fun Run, which will take place on the high school track. Fun, relaxed distances of ¼ mile, ½ mile, and 1 mile will be offered for those choosing to participate. The cost for the 5K Run/Walk is $25.00, and the TigerCUB Fun Run is $10.00. All proceeds will benefit the students within the Black River Falls School District.
